Spurs announce details of challenging pre-season schedule

Tottenham Hotspur have announced details of four pre-season friendlies in preparation for the new Barclays Women’s Super League season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of Spurs’ pre-season programme via an official club press release from the North Londoners this afternoon.

Robert Vilahamn’s side recently returned for pre-season training and they will step up their preparations for the new campaign when they resume competitive action this weekend.

Spurs will face second tier side London City Lionesses in a pre-season friendly on Saturday before taking on another Barclays Women’s Championship club in the form of Southampton on Thursday 22 August 2024. The Lilywhites will then play Dutch club Feyenoord on Wednesday 11 September 2024 before ending their pre-season programme with a fixture against Barclays Women’s Super League rivals Manchester United on Sunday 15 September 2024.

In addition to the above, Spurs will also play two more friendlies against unnamed opponents. Dates of those matches have not been publicised. All of Spurs’ pre-season games will be played behind-closed-doors.

Spurs boss Vilahamn enjoyed an impressive first year in charge of the team in 2023/2024. The 41-year-old guided the North Londoners to an impressive finish of sixth place in the Barclays Women’s Super League while the club qualified for a first Adobe Women’s FA Cup final. Vilahamn will be setting the bar even higher for his side going into the 2024/2025 campaign.
