Former Southampton midfielder Megan Wynne has joined Australian Liberty A-League club Perth Glory on a free transfer.
Glory announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this morning.
Wynne joins Perth Glory after leaving former club Southampton at the end of last season. The 31-year-old Welsh international winger spent two seasons with The Saints in which she made 31 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
The player has enjoyed a 13-year senior playing career in the English game but Wynne is now ready for a brand new challenge ‘Down Under’ with Perth Glory.
After completing her move to Perth Glory, Wynne said “For most of my career, I’ve played within England and therefore I know now that I’m ready for a new challenge and to test myself in a new league.
“I’ve always looked at the A-League from afar and thought it would be somewhere I would love to play my football, so when the opportunity came to join Perth Glory, I was over the moon and there was no way I could turn it down. I’m so excited to have Perth as my home for the next two seasons and I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and all the staff.
“I’m looking forward to showing the fans what I can bring to the squad, as well as continuing to learn and develop. I’ll give my everything to make sure this season is a successful one.”
Wynne will spend the next two Liberty A-League seasons with Perth Glory,
