Everton forward Piemonte joins Lazio

Everton forward Martina Piemonte has joined ambitious Italian Serie A Femminile eBay club S.S. Lazio on a permanent deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Merseysiders this afternoon.

Piemonte’s Everton exit comes as no real surprise with the player having been linked with several clubs across Europe in recent days.

Everton signed Piemonte last summer following a spell with AC Milan. The 26-year-old went on to score three goals in 19 appearances for The Blue Girls in the Barclays Women’s Super League. Everton never lost when Piemonte was on the scoresheet.

Piemonte’s spell with Everton saw her play her football outside of her native Italy for the first time in three years. The player has now deemed it to be the right time to return home with Piemonte joining a Lazio side that have their eyes set upon achieving big things in the coming years.

The forward is the sixth player to leave Everton this summer. Manager Brian Sørensen has already bolstered his forward line in the current transfer window, however, he may opt to recruit further attacking reinforcements after losing Piemonte’s services ahead of the new Barclays Women’s Super League season.
