Arsenal will face BK Häcken while Manchester City will take on Paris FC in Round 2 of this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League.
The draw for Round 2 of this season’s competition took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland earlier today.
In total, 24 clubs were entered into the Round 2 draw. The draw was split into two paths; the Champions Path (with 14 teams competing for seven group places) and the League Path (10 teams competing for five group spots). Both Arsenal and Manchester City were placed in the League Path and were amongst the top five ranked clubs in that side of the draw.
The draw determined that Arsenal will face Swedish club BK Häcken while Manchester City will take on Paris FC. Both Barclays Women’s Super League sides will play away from home in their respective first legs.
BK Häcken and Paris FC both won their Round 2 ties last season. The Swedes advanced through the group stage to the quarter-finals while French side Paris FC exited the competition at the end of the group stage.
The Round 2 ties will be played over two legs. The first leg ties will be staged on 18/19 September 2024 while the second leg ties will take place a week later. The winners will advance to the 16-team group stage.
Barclays Women’s Super League champions Chelsea will enter the competition in the group stage.
