Aston Villa sign Brazilian international forward Nunes

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Brazilian international forward Gabi Nunes on a two-year deal with the option of a further year.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this morning.

Nunes joins Aston Villa from Spanish club Levante UD. The 27-year-old netted 11 goals in 28 games in the finetwork Liga F last season. The player has also turned out for Centro Olimpico, Corinthians and Madrid CFF in her senior career to date.

On the international stage, Nunes has been capped by Brazil on 39 occasions while she has scored eight goals for her country. She was a Silver Medalist with Brazil at this summer’s Olympic Games.

After adding Nunes to his squad, Aston Villa manager Robert de Pauw said “I first saw Gabi few years ago; she is a technically gifted player who knows how to find the goal.

“Gabi is a player who knows how to play in tight areas as well as arriving into the box and getting on the end of crosses. She can play in several attacking positions and will contribute towards our continued development.

“We are very pleased to welcome her to our team.”

Nunes is Aston Villa’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window.
