Liverpool midfielder Sofie Lundgaard has signed a new contract with the club.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Reds this afternoon.
The 22-year-old Danish midfielder joined Liverpool from Fortuna Hjørring in the January 2023 transfer window. The player has gone on to make 23 appearances for the Merseyside club in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Lundgaard is an important member of the Liverpool team and the club have therefore moved to secure her services for an extended period.
After signing on again with Liverpool, Lundgaard said “I’m really happy and proud to extend my contract with Liverpool.
“I think it’s a dream come true again and I really enjoy being here. It was really a no-brainer for me.
“It’s unreal to be in Melwood, the facilities are so good and we have everything we need to perform on the pitch as well. I think that’s great.
“I enjoy living in the city. I think it’s really nice that everything is so close and we also have the water nearby. I enjoy my time here.”
Liverpool kick-off the 2024/2025 Barclays Women’s Super League season with a fixture against Leicester City in St Helens on Sunday.
