Arsenal sign German keeper Borbe

Arsenal have completed the signing of former German youth international goalkeeper Anneke Borbe.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this morning.

The 24-year-old keeper joins Arsenal off the back of a two-year spell with German Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg. Borbe represented The She-Wolves at B team level before making her mark on the first team.

Borbe previously began her career with Werder Bremen where she spent seven years as a senior player. She was a 2. Frauen-Bundesliga winner with the club in 2019/2020.

On the international stage, Borbe has represented Germany at various youth levels up to and including Under-19 level. She is still awaiting her first senior call-up.

After joining Arsenal, Borbe said “I’m really proud to join this amazing club. I’m so happy to have the opportunity to come and be a part of Arsenal at such an exciting time. I’m looking forward to getting down to work with my teammates and of course playing in front of our incredible supporters at Emirates Stadium.”

Borbe is Arsenal’s second signing of the summer transfer window. The club have also added England international winger Chloe Kelly to their squad this summer after a successful loan spell in 2024/2025.
