Nottingham Forest sign London City Lionesses goalkeeper Poor on loan

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of London City Lionesses goalkeeper Sophia Poor on a season-long loan deal.

The Tricky Trees announced the news via a post on their official club website yesterday.

The 19-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at London City Lionesses from former club Aston Villa. The player provided some strong competition for the number one goalkeeping jersey. Poor rejoined London City Lionesses on a permanent deal this summer.

Poor started out with Leicester City before joining Aston Villa in 2023. The player is now returning to the Midlands after joining Nottingham Forest on loan.

After adding Poor to her squad, Nottingham Forest boss Carly Davies said “We’re really pleased to welcome Sophia to the Club ahead of the new season.

“Sophia is a talented young goalkeeper who brings composure, sharp reflexes, and a real presence in the box. She’s shown great potential and maturity so far in her career, and we believe she has all the attributes to thrive in our environment.

“We’re excited to have her on board and look forward to seeing her grow and contribute to what we’re building this season.”

Poor is Nottingham Forest’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
