London City Lionesses announce double signing of Zelem and Kennedy

London City Lionesses have announced the double signing of Angel City pair Katie Zelem and Alanna Kennedy on permanent deals.

The Pride revealed their latest additions via a post on their official club website this evening.

Midfielder Zelem joins London City Lionesses after spending one season playing in the NWSL with Angel City. The 29-year-old previously spent six successful years with Manchester United where she was club captain. Zelem won the Barclays WSL2 title and the Adobe Women’s FA Cup with The Red Devils. The player is a two-time former Barclays Women’s Super League winner from her time with Liverpool.

Kennedy joined Angel City from Manchester City back in January. The defensive player has spent the best part of five years playing in the Barclays Women’s Super League. In addition to her spell with Manchester City, she also turned out for Tottenham Hotspur in the top tier. On the international stage, Kennedy is closing in on 150 senior caps for Australia.

London City Lionesses have now signed 14 new players since they sealed their promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League at the end of last season. The club have bolstered their ranks with significant international quality and experience across the pitch.
