Newcastle United announce five-player exit list

Newcastle United have announced the news that five players will be leaving the club when their contracts expire at the end of the month.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official press release from The Magpies this morning.

It has been revealed that Shania Hayles, Deanna Cooper, Claudia Moan, Hannah Hawkins and Simone Charley are all moving on this summer.

Attacker Hayles, defender Cooper and goalkeeper Moan have all been regulars in the Newcastle United side over the last couple of seasons. They have accumulated more than 100 appearances between them in all competitions.

Goalkeeper Hawkins has largely provided cover and competition while forward Charley has been with The Magpies for the short-term.

After Newcastle United revealed their summer exit list, manager Tanya Oxtoby said “I would like to thank all of the players for their contributions during their time at Newcastle United Women.

“Many of them have been involved in some of the biggest moments in the club’s recent history and they should be proud of what they achieved.

“I have no doubt that the supporters will join in me wishing them all the very best for the next steps in their career.”

Newcastle United ended the 2025/2026 campaign in sixth place in the Barclays WSL2 table.
