Leicester City forward Hlín Eiríksdóttir has joined Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan club Malmö FF on a permanent deal.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Foxes this morning.
The 26-year-old has been a Leicester City player for the last 18 months. She joined the club from Swedish side Kristianstads DFF for an undisclosed fee during the January 2025 transfer window. Eiríksdóttir made 20 appearances for Leicester City in all competitions before spending the second half of last season on loan at Italian Serie A Women Athora club ACF Fiorentina.
With Leicester City set to play Barclays WSL2 football this season, Eiríksdóttir will take on a fresh challenge in Sweden.
Speaking to Malmö FF’s media team after sealing her move, Eiríksdóttir said “There were too many reasons why I should choose Malmö FF for me not to do so. It is a huge and cool club with great conditions and facilities. I like the way the team plays football, I have a pretty good idea after talking to the coaches and watching a few matches.
“It also feels very good to move to Sweden. I had great periods in both Piteå and Kristianstads and I think this move suits me well. I can’t really put my finger on why that is, but it is tough and there are many even matches, I like that.”
Eiríksdóttir has signed with Malmö FF until 2029.
