Gotham FC sign Liverpool midfielder O’Sullivan

American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Gotham FC have completed the signing of Liverpool midfielder Denise O’Sullivan on a one-year loan deal with the obligation to buy.

The Bats announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this evening.

The 32-year-old midfielder became Liverpool’s record signing when she joined the club from North Carolina Courage in the January transfer window, however, she is quickly returning to the NWSL with Gotham FC. O’Sullivan made 13 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions in which she scored two goals.

After sealing her move to Gotham FC, O’Sullivan said “I’m incredibly excited to join Gotham FC and return to the NWSL. This club has established itself as one of the top teams in the world with an incredible culture and ambition to compete for every trophy. I can’t wait to meet my teammates, get to work and do everything I can to help this club continue its success.”

O’Sullivan has spent a large part of her career playing in the United States. The midfielder joined Houston Dash in 2016 before moving to North Carolina Courage the following year. O’Sullivan was on Courage’s books until she joined Liverpool on a permanentl deal in January.
