Former Liverpool midfielder Amy Rodgers has completed a move to London City Lionesses according to reports on The Pride’s official website.
The 21-year-old Londoner moves to Princes Park on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool at the end of last season.
Despite her young age, Rodgers is a player with experience at both the top level and in the FA Women’s Championship. The midfielder has made 35 appearances in elite league competition, scoring four goals. Rodgers made her most appearances in a single season to date last term as she helped former club Liverpool record a third-place finish in the FA Women’s Championship.
Last season saw Rodgers net three league goals. Her final strike in a Liverpool shirt came against new club London City Lionesses on the final day of the season.
Rodgers has today joined The Pride and after signing on at Princes Park, she said “I’m really excited to be joining LCL. As an opponent last season, I saw first-hand the passion the team played with, so when I met with the staff and heard the ambitions of the club, it made it something I definitely wanted to be a part of. I can’t wait to get going with the team to kick on and achieve the club’s goals.”
Rodgers has become London City Lionesses’ third signing of the summer following the additions of Rianna Jarrett and Brooke Nunn earlier this week.
