Former Liverpool defender Satara Murray has joined Bristol City according to reports on The Robins’ official website.
The 28-year-old American defender has spent the last two years playing on the continent but she has returned to the English game to help boost Bristol City’s promotion push in the FA Women’s Championship.
Murray spent four years as a Liverpool player between 2015 and 2019 and she made more than a half-century of top flight appearances for the Merseyside club.
After completing her move to Bristol City, Murray said “I’m delighted to have signed with Bristol City and to return to play here in England.
“It’s an opportunity for me to challenge myself in a new environment and I’m determined to contribute to the club’s success on the pitch.
“Bristol City have shown they’re committed to the women’s programme with their move to the High Performance Centre for all home fixtures, which will be a great surface and facility to play Championship football.”
After spending her youth with Lonestar ’93, Pali Blues and Washington Spirit, the player spent three years in American college football with the North Carolina Tar Heels. The player then enjoyed four years as a Liverpool player before going on to play in the United States with Houston Dash and FC Austin Elite either side of a spell in Norway with Kolbotn.
Murray becomes the sixth new arrival at Bristol City so far this summer.
