West Ham United boss Olli Harder has completed the signing of New Zealand international goalkeeper Anna Leat according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 20-year-old has been capped by her country on four occasions at senior level while she was a member of the New Zealand squad which competed at this summer’s Olympic Games.
Leat joins The Hammers off the back of a two-year college career in the United States with Georgetown Hoyas.
After completing the move to West Ham United, Leat said “I’m so excited to join West Ham. The whole experience of coming here has been pretty unreal and it’s been something I’ve really been looking forward to for a long time now. I’ve definitely been putting in the hard yards to get to this point so it’s an awesome feeling to finally be here.
“I’m British on my dad’s side and I’ve always wanted to live in England, the opportunity came up and it was perfect. I’ve been wanting to make the jump to a pro league and this is the best in the world so I’m delighted to be at West Ham.”
Leat becomes the seventh signing at West Ham United so far this summer. She joins Tameka Yallop, Zaneta Wyne, Claudia Walker, Mel Filis, Abbey-Leigh Stringer and Lucy Parker in moving to The Chigwell Construction Stadium.
