Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of former Aston Villa full-back Asmita Ale according to reports on their official website.
The 19-year-old England youth international defender moves to The Hive after turning down the offer of a contract extension at her former club.
It has been reported that Ale has signed a two-year deal with Spurs while she has been handed the number 13 shirt.
After completing her move to Spurs, Ale said “I’m so excited to be joining Spurs – the Club has a fantastic reputation and the ambition that Rehanne (Skinner), the staff and players have is something I wanted to be a part of.
“I’m looking forward to working with Rehanne again and learning as much as I can. I can’t wait to get started – hopefully I can help the team progress even further this season.”
After coming through the youth ranks at Villa, Ale went on to become a vital member of the first team squad. The player helped the club to win the FA Women’s Championship title on a points-per-game basis in 2019/2020 while she went on to make 18 appearances in the top flight last term.
Ale becomes Spurs boss Rehanne Skinner’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
