French winger Baltimore linked with Manchester United and Manchester City

Reports in the French media have indicated that Barclays FA Women’s Super League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City could look to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Sandy Baltimore this summer.

The 22-year-old is out of contract with the French champions on 30 June and while Baltimore could opt to extend her deal at the Stade Jean-Bouin, it is believed that there is a queue of clubs waiting to pounce if the player opts for a change in her career path.

French media outlet RMC Sport are reporting that Bayern Munich could move for Baltimore if she does leave Paris Saint-Germain with the German side already thought to have shown an interest while Manchester United and Manchester City are said to be monitoring the situation. Manchester City have been linked with the player over the last few days while Chelsea were also previously paired with Baltimore, although the sanctions placed upon owner Roman Abramovich earlier today almost certainly means that the winger won’t be seen in South West London in the near future.

Baltimore is a product of the Paris Saint-Germain academy system and the player has been in and around the first team for the last five-and-a-half years. The winger was the French Division 1 Féminine Player of the Year last season as Paris Saint-Germain won the league title while she also made the Team of the Year.

On the international stage, Baltimore has 11 senior caps for France and has scored two goals. She could appear for Les Bleues at this summer’s UEFA Women’s EURO in England.  It will be intriguing to see whether England becomes her new home at club level.
