Brighton & Hove Albion ace Kaagman agrees PSV move

Brighton & Hove Albion have been dealt a blow with the news that influential midfielder Inessa Kaagman has agreed to join PSV Eindhoven this summer.

The 26-year-old Dutch international has spent the last two seasons with The Seagulls after joining the club following her departure from their Barclays FA Women’s Super League rivals Everton. Kaagman has been ultra-consistent with her performances for the Sussex club, displaying leadership from their midfield along with a keen eye for goal.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Hope Powell will undoubtedly have wanted to retain Kaagman’s services for next season but the player has deemed it the right time to return to her homeland. The Seagulls announced the midfielder’s scheduled departure via an update on their official club website this morning.

Kaagman was Brighton & Hove Albion’s top scorer in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League in 2020/2021 with eight goals while only Aileen Whelan could match her tally of four league goals this season. Her departure leaves a hole in the Albion midfield which will almost certainly have to be filled with real international quality this summer.

Two players have now announced their Brighton & Hove Albion departures this month with long-serving attacker Whelan also set to leave the club upon the expiry of her contract.
