Lewes midfielder Paula Howells has agreed a new contract with the Barclays Women’s Championship club for next season.
The Rookettes announced the news via a post on their official club Twitter account yesterday.
Howells was the joint-second most used player by the Sussex club this season. The midfielder made 20 appearances for Lewes in the Barclays Women’s Championship while she scored three goals. The player will now look forward to spending her fourth season with Lewes after signing her new deal.
After Lewes announced the news that Howells is being retained, the player said “I’m delighted to be signing for Lewes for another season. This club is my home and everyone in it is like a family to me. I want to build upon some of our performances last year and give the fans a season to remember, and performances to be proud of each week.
“From talking to Scott (Booth) and Kelly (Lindsey) about the ambitions and targets this team has, it’s an exciting time to be putting pen to paper, big things are coming for Lewes, and I’m more than ready to continue to be a part of that journey.”
Howells joins Ellie Hack and Ellie Mason in remaining at The Dripping Pan in 2022/2023.
