Bristol City sign Republic of Ireland international defender Mustaki

Bristol City have completed the signing of Republic of Ireland international defender Chloe Mustaki on an initial one-year deal according to reports on The Robins’ official club website.

The 26-year-old American-born defender joins the Barclays Women’s Championship club from FAI Women’s National League side Shelbourne. Mustaki has proven both her fitness and quality with The Shels following a period sidelined with a long term injury.

Mustaki has spent the majority of her career to date playing in her homeland with Peamount United, UCD Waves and Shelbourne. She briefly played in France with Bordeaux and also had a stint in the English second tier with Charlton Athletic prior to her injury. Mustaki arguably has unfinished business in the Barclays Women’s Championship and she can now make a statement with new club Bristol City.

After joining The Robins, Mustaki said “It feels fantastic to be here, it’s a club with massive ambitions and I have a lot of personal ambitions on the pitch so I think it’s a good marriage together so I’m looking forward to the season.

“I’m looking forward to taking the step up and getting back into the Championship as this is a team that want to get back into the Women’s Super League and that’s obviously somewhere I want to be in the coming years.”

Mustaki has become the fourth new addition of the summer transfer window at Bristol City.
