Blackburn Rovers re-sign forward Dixon

Blackburn Rovers have re-signed forward Chloe Dixon on a deal which will run for the remainder of the season.

Rovers announced the transfer this evening via an update on their official club website.

The 26-year-old attacker spent last season at The Sir Tom Finney Stadium. Dixon made 19 appearances for Blackburn Rovers in the Barclays Women’s Championship while she scored one goal. The player offers manager Gemma Donnelly plenty of versatility with Dixon able to operate in any of the wide areas.

Dixon is very experienced at Barclays Women’s Championship level. She spent time with Sheffield FC during their spell in the second tier before going on to enjoy three seasons with Sheffield United. Dixon has close to 100 appearances to her name in the Barclays Women’s Championship.

Blackburn Rovers boss Donnelly has now added six players to her squad this summer. In addition to Dixon, the Lancashire club have also signed Evie Smith, Faith Nokuthula, Shanell Salgado, Chloe Williams and Niamh Murphy.

Dixon could be handed her second Blackburn Rovers debut against Durham at Maiden Castle on Sunday afternoon. Donnelly’s side are looking to bounce straight back to winning ways after being defeated 2-0 by Bristol City at The Robins’ High Performance Centre last time out.
