Aston Villa and Manchester City will get their respective seasons underway when they meet at Villa Park on Sunday lunchtime.
Both clubs have been very active in the summer transfer window and will line-up differently at Villa Park this weekend.
Aston Villa head coach Carla Ward has confirmed that she has a number of injury concerns ahead of her side’s season opener. Simone Magill and Remi Allen are out with long term injuries while Meaghan Sergeant, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah and Natasha Harding are also sidelined. Sarah Mayling will be assessed ahead of the game while summer signings Anna Patten, Danielle Turner, Kenza Dali, Kirsty Hanson and Rachel Daly could all be involved.
Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor has confirmed that defenders Ruby Mace and Alanna Kennedy will be unavailable this weekend with the pair currently battling muscular injuries. New signing Yui Hasegawa is also out after picking up a minor injury in her final day with former club West Ham United. Taylor could offer debuts to Kerstin Casparij, Leila Ouahabi, Laia Aleixandri, Deyna Castellanos and Mary Fowler.
