Birmingham City have signed Welsh international midfielder Charlie Estcourt following a successful trial with the club.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official press release from the Blues this evening.
Estcourt has plenty of experience in the elite game after turning out for five different clubs in her career to date. The player started out at Reading before getting her first taste of regular football whilst on loan at Bristol City. The midfielder has since turned out in the Barclays Women’s Championship for London Bees, Charlton Athletic and Coventry United.
Last season was arguably Estcourt’s busiest yet. She made 21 appearances for Coventry United in the Barclays Women’s Championship, helping the club to avoid relegation to the FA Women’s National League despite a 10-point deduction. The midfielder left the club at the end of the season as they reverted to part-time operations.
On the international stage, Estcourt has 33 senior caps to her name for Wales and she has scored three goals for her country. The midfielder has been in and around the Wales senior squad for the last eight years.
Estcourt could make her Birmingham City debut against her former club Charlton Athletic at The Valley on Sunday afternoon.
