Coventry United provide update on fitness of Heeps and Morris

Coventry United have confirmed that both Eleanor Heeps and Katy Morris have been given the all-clear following injuries sustained in the club’s 8-0 defeat at Sheffield United on Sunday.

Heeps sustained a nasty impact injury early in the game at Bramall Lane before Morris had to come off late on as Coventry United ended the contest with 10 players.

Goalkeeper Heeps jumped in an attempt to claim the ball from a corner kick. She was challenged by a couple of opposing players and thumped back down onto the ground. Grace Riglar went on to score the opening goal following the incident as Sheffield United started their scoring spree. Heeps left the field on a stretcher as her debut for The Red and Greens came to a very early end.

Midfielder Morris played the first 89 minutes of the match before limping off. With head coach Lee Burch having made all of his permitted changes, Coventry United were made to see out the closing stages of the game with 10 players.

Coventry United have now provided an update on the health of both players and it has been confirmed that they have been given the all-clear by the medical team.

The Red and Greens will look towards erasing memories of their joint-record Barclays Women’s Championship defeat when they travel to Birmingham City to contest a Midlands derby on Sunday.
