Spurs confirm ACL injury blow for forward Brazil

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the news that forward Ellie Brazil has sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.

The Lilywhites revealed the news this morning via an update on their official club website. The player is now set to miss the remainder of the 2022/2023 season.

Brazil sustained her injury during Saturday’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Manchester City at The Breyer Group Stadium in Leyton. The player started the match for Spurs but she was replaced by Jess Naz in just the eighth minute after getting injured. Brazil has now been assessed by doctors who have confirmed that she has sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.

Spurs have had some real bad luck with Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries in the last 12 months. Brazil has become the fourth player to sustain the same type of injury. Kit Graham, Ria Percival and Kyah Simon are all currently in rehabilitation as they aim to battle back from the same setback.

Brazil only joined Spurs in the summer after opting to leave their Barclays Women’s Super League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion. The player has made four appearances in all competitions for The Lilywhites but she is now facing a lengthy period of recovery and rehabilitation.
