Manchester United’s mid-season friendly against Birkirkara FC is set to break the attendance record for a women’s football match in Malta.

Fans of both clubs have claimed their tickets for the match and Birkirkara FC have today confirmed that the game is a sell-out. It is thought that close to 3,000 fans will pack out the Tony Bezzina Stadium, home of Hibernians FC on Friday evening.
Manchester United landed in Malta on Tuesday. The Red Devils are currently enjoying a short period of warm weather training ahead of their mid-season friendly against Birkirkara FC. After the match, Marc Skinner’s side will return to England as they look to put the final touches to their preparations for the first league match of the year against Liverpool at the Leigh Sports Village.
Skinner’s side enjoyed an excellent first half of the season. Manchester United are currently occupying third place in the Barclays Women’s Super League table and they remain in the hunt for a first league title.
