Aston Villa have completed the impressive signing of England international midfielder Jordan Nobbs from Arsenal on an initial 18-month deal.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Aston Villa this afternoon.
Nobbs has struggled for regular starts at Arsenal this season with the player having started just two of her nine games in the Barclays Women’s Super League. It is important that Nobbs gets regular minutes in the second half of the season with the player in need of nailing down her place in the England squad for this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The midfielder has now agreed a permanent move to Aston Villa with the opportunity to obtain that much-needed game time in the coming months.
After securing the services of Nobbs, Aston Villa head coach Carla Ward said “This is a big signing for us and Jordan is one of the country’s most decorated footballers.
“She’s a winner and will bring a wealth of experience that her new teammates will thrive off.
“We’re delighted to secure her signature and we hope this move can help the football club as well as cement her place back in the international set-up.”
Nobbs moves to Aston Villa after winning every domestic trophy with former club Arsenal. She spent well over a decade with the North Londoners, lifting 12 trophies with The Gunners in total.
