Former Arsenal and West Ham United midfielder Ruby Grant has joined Swedish club BK Häcken on a three-year deal.
BK Häcken announced details of the transfer via an update on their official club website yesterday.
Grant came through the youth ranks at Arsenal before making her senior debut for The Gunners during the 2018/2019 season. The player made a small number of first team appearances for the North Londoners before leaving the club in summer 2020.
Ahead of a move to the United States, Grant joined West Ham United on a short-term basis. The midfielder made eight appearances for The Hammers in the first half of the 2020/2021 season before going Stateside where she linked-up with the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Grant has been training with latest club BK Häcken during their pre-season programme ahead of the new Damallsvenskan campaign and the player has done enough to earn herself a long-term deal.
After signing for the Swedish club, Grant said “It feels fantastic that it is done. It’s a great club that I’m happy to be a part of. I am hopeful and I think this is a good step for me to take, so far I’ve enjoyed every moment.
“We are an ambitious club and I am an ambitious player, so I hope we win everything we can win. I expect a lot.”
BK Häcken are in action this weekend when they travel to Växjö DFF in the Swedish Women’s Cup.
