Arsenal are on the verge of breaking their ticket sales record ahead of their UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final, second leg tie against VfL Wolfsburg.
The two European heavyweights are set to contest their second leg tie at the Emirates Stadium on Monday evening. The scores are currently tied at 2-2 from the first leg at the Volkswagen Arena last weekend.
Tickets for the second leg have been the subject of exceptionally high demand and Arsenal have today confirmed that 52,500 tickets have now been sold. It is understood that The Gunners are less than 1,300 ticket sales away from beating their all-time record which was for their home North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur back in September.
Since recording their spirited 2-2 draw against VfL Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena in the first leg on Sunday, it has been reported that more than 5,000 Arsenal fans have booked their tickets for the return fixture. A complete sell-out now seems like a real possibility with less than 10,000 tickets remaining.
