Barcelona are expecting to record an attendance in the region of 70,000 when they face Chelsea in their UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final, second leg tie at the Spotify Camp Nou on Thursday evening.
The Catalan club are potentially just 90 minutes away from another UEFA Women’s Champions League final. Jonatan Giráldez’s side hold a 1-0 advantage from the first leg and they are the red-hot favourites to reach the final in Eindhoven in June.
Well-respected Spanish journalist Mayca Jiménez Durillo has confirmed that more than 65,000 tickets have already been snapped up for Barcelona’s semi-final, second leg clash against Chelsea and it is hoped that the attendance could be in the region of 70,000.
Barcelona were dominant in the first leg at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. The Spaniards got off to a rapid start with Caroline Graham Hansen scoring inside five minutes. Despite enjoying the majority of the ball and attacking play, Giráldez’s side were unable to increase their lead in South West London and they still have plenty to do back at the Spotify Camp Nou.
If Chelsea are to upset the odds and reach the final, The Blues much become the first team since March 2018 to record a victory in Barcelona in European competition.
The UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final, second leg tie between Barcelona and Chelsea kicks-off at 5.45pm on Thursday evening.
