Experienced Arsenal defender Jen Beattie has signed a new deal with the club.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this afternoon.

Beattie has enjoyed two spells with Arsenal between 2009 and 2013 and from 2019 to current date and she will now remain with the club for a ninth year. The defender has made 157 appearances for the North Londoners in all competitions while she has scored 32 goals.

In her time with Arsenal, Beattie has won the league title along with three FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cups and two Vitality Women’s FA Cups. She will now be hoping to add further silverware after signing a contract extension with The Gunners.

After signing her new deal, Beattie said “I’m happy here. I love the club. I love the group of people I work with – the players, the staff, everybody behind the team. The way the club has progressed over the last few seasons has been great to see and it was amazing to lift a trophy again last season and achieve that level of success as a team. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together next year.”

News of Beattie’s contract extension comes at the end of a week which has seen Amanda Ilestedt and Cloé Lacasse join Arsenal.
