UWCL DRAW: Chelsea learn of group stage opponents

Chelsea will face Real Madrid, BK Häcken and Paris FC in the group stage of this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The draw for the group stage took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland this afternoon. The draw was also streamed live via UEFA’s official media channels.

Chelsea went into the draw as one of the four top seeds. The Blues knew that they couldn’t be drawn against Barcelona, Lyon or Bayern Munich in the group stage. As the draw unfolded, it was determined that Chelsea will play in Group D alongside Real Madrid, BK Häcken and Paris FC. Emma Hayes’ side avoided the top ranked clubs in Pots 2-4, however, they will come up against an ever-evolving Real Madrid side, an experienced European campaigner in BK Häcken and Arsenal’s Round 1 conquerors Paris FC.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage kicks-off on 14 and 15 November 2023 while the final round of group matches will be staged on 30 and 31 January 2024. Full fixture details will be announced in due course.

This season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League final will take place at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao on Saturday 25 May 2024.
