Arsenal sign goalkeeper Rodríguez

Arsenal have completed the signing of Spanish international goalkeeper Misa Rodríguez on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this morning.

The 24-year-old stopper joins Arsenal after leaving Spanish Liga F Moeve club Real Madrid earlier this summer.

Rodríguez spent six years with The Whites. She is the club’s record appearance holder with 215 appearances to her name. The keeper has helped Real Madrid to establish themselves at the top level in Spain whilst progressing in European competition.

In her early years, Rodríguez turned out for Atlético Madrid where she won three Liga F Moeve titles before enjoying a short spell with Deportivo de La Corona. She then moved to Real Madrid where she built her personal legacy.

On the international stage, Rodríguez has been capped by Spain on 25 occasions. She has won the FIFA Women’s World Cup and UEFA Women’s Nations League with her country.

After joining Arsenal, Rodríguez said “I’m so proud to join this great club. Arsenal is one of the top clubs in the world and I’m really excited to be part of the team and take on this new challenge. I want to help us compete for trophies and make more history, together with our supporters.”

Rodríguez is Arsenal’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
