London Bees boss Burch brings in top flight trio

London Bees boss Lee Burch has been busy in the transfer market with the club having announced the triple signing of Marianne Taho, Sophie McLean and Charlie Estcourt as reported on The Bees’ official website.

The FA Women’s Championship club have kept their recruitment quiet throughout the summer but London Bees have today announced a 22-player squad for the 2020/2021 season which includes three new signings, all of which have come from clubs in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

Pacey forward Taho moves to The Hive following a spell with Arsenal. The 19-year-old has been a regular for The Gunners’ Under-21 side and can either operate in the centre or out wide. Taho started her career with Coventry United before moving to Birmingham City in 2016. The attacker spent a short time with the Blues before later joining Arsenal.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder McLean is no stranger to Bees fans. She played in all four of Spurs’ meetings with London Bees during the North Londoners’ time in the FA Women’s Championship. She helped her former side to promotion from the second tier in 2018/2019 and was released by Spurs earlier this summer after finding the step up to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League tough.

Welsh international midfielder Estcourt joins London Bees after recently leaving Reading. The player has a handful of top flight appearances under her belt while she was a shining light during a loan spell with FA Women’s Championship club Charlton Athletic last season. Estcourt was a near-ever present for The Addicks.

The trio could make their debuts for London Bees when the club travel to the Butts Park Arena to take on Coventry United on Sunday 6 September.
