Two of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League’s most injury-hit sides meet at The SportNation.bet Stadium this afternoon as Birmingham City face Everton.
Birmingham City head coach Carla Ward has been operating with a wafer-thin squad all season and her side has been depleted further by a catalogue of injuries while Everton boss Willie Kirk now also has an increasing number of absentees from his side.
The hosts are set to go into the match with just 14 fit players once again. Defender Harriet Scott missed the midweek penalty shootout defeat to Leicester City in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup and could be doubtful while The Blues remain without long-term absentees Sarah Mayling, Heidi Logan and Abbi Grant. Lily Simkin has returned to training but is unlikely to be fit enough to make her return.
Everton could welcome forward Simone Magill back to the side following her return to fitness, however, The Blue Girls’ injury list is not receding with Danish defender Rikke Sevecke being the latest casualty. Manager Kirk remains without defender Gabby George and attackers Claire Emslie and Valerie Gauvin for his side’s trip to Solihull.
Birmingham City’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Everton is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm and will be available for live streaming on the FA Player.
