Brighton & Hove Albion confirm change of venue for Manchester City fixture

Brighton & Hove Albion will take on Manchester City on Sunday afternoon at the American Express Elite Performance Centre rather than their usual home venue of The People’s Pension Stadium in Crawley, the club have announced.

The Seagulls have indicated that The People’s Pension Stadium is unavailable this weekend therefore their latest Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture will take place in Lancing.

The American Express Elite Performance Centre is Brighton & Hove Albion’s state-of-the-art training and teaching facility which was opened by the club back in 2014. The facility cost Albion around £20 million to build and is regarded as one of the most impressive in the country. There are 11 full-sized and half-sized natural grass and artificial pitches on site while the facility also boasts a half-sized covered indoor pitch.

Hope Powell’s Albion side come up against a Manchester City outfit which hit Aston Villa for seven goals without reply last weekend while they put up a good fight against Chelsea in their FA Women’s Continental League Cup quarter-final tie at The Academy Stadium in midweek despite being under-strength.

It has been confirmed that Albion’s fixture against Manchester City on Sunday will remain a 2pm kick-off as originally planned.
