PREVIEW: Aston Villa v Reading

Aston Villa will be hoping to record their first Barclays FA Women’s Super League points at The Banks’s Stadium when they face Reading on Saturday lunchtime.

Gemma Davies’ side have lost all of their home league fixtures so far this season but their luck must be due to change at some point and Villa will be hoping that this is sooner rather than later.

Villa boss Davies will welcome teenager Jodie Hutton back into the squad following her recent injury, however, Ella Franklin-Fraiture, Chloe Arthur and Ramona Petzelberger are sidelined. There could be changes made to the Villa starting XI following last weekend’s 7-0 defeat at Manchester City. The likes of Elisha N’Dow, Emma Follis, Diana Silva and Mana Iwabuchi could be amongst those players considered for starts against Reading.

Kelly Chambers takes her Reading side to Walsall on the back of an impressive 1-1 draw with Arsenal at The Madejski Stadium last weekend. The Royals are likely to be without defender Kristine Bjordal Leine who was stretchered off late in that match otherwise, manager Chambers could keep faith in the majority of those players who performed so well against The Gunners last time out.

Aston Villa’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Reading is scheduled to kick-off at 12.30pm on Saturday afternoon and will be available for fans to watch live on the FA Player.
