Austrian international goalkeeper signs new long-term deal with Arsenal

Arsenal goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger has put pen to paper to sign a new deal which will keep her at Meadow Park for the long term according to reports on The Gunners’ official website.

The 25-year-old Austrian international stopper joined The Gunners from Bayern Munich in 2019 and the player has gone on to be a regular starter for Arsenal head coach Joe Montemurro.

It has today been announced that Arsenal have come to an agreement with Zinsberger which will keep her at the club for the long term. Full details of the contract signed by the player have not been disclosed, however, it is thought that Zinsberger will remain in North London until at least summer 2023.

Zinsberger made 12 appearances in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League for The Gunners last season, keeping a clean sheet every other game. This term she has added eight further league outings to her tally but has kept just one shut-out which came in Arsenal’s 5-0 win at Brighton & Hove Albion in October. The keeper will be hoping to put in a match-winning performance for her side when they welcome latest opponents Manchester City to Meadow Park on Sunday.

Later this month, Zinsberger will jet off to Malta to link up with the Austrian squad for the Visit Malta Women’s Trophy tournament. She is the most-capped goalkeeper in the Austrian squad having represented her nation on 66 occasions at senior level.
