You may think that with our FA Women’s Super League fixtures now finished, we would be slowing things down here at Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club but this week has been as busy as ever.
Last Saturday, most of our members were back down at Wembley for our men’s team’s Emirates FA Cup final mauling of Watford which completed the domestic quadruple for the first time in history.
Monday then brought the epic open top bus parade through the streets of Manchester. City’s women’s team got to ride on the lead bus, showing off our two trophies to the 100,000 that lined the streets. Even our seasoned professionals, like Steph Houghton and Jill Scott claimed it was unlike anything which they had ever experienced before. It was a night to remember for all us Blues.
After a few days rest, many group members set off early on Saturday morning to watch the Lionesses’ penultimate warm up game against Denmark at The Banks’s Stadium in Walsall. New signing Ellen White was amongst the starters which gave us chance to cheer for her that little bit extra.
A really busy week but that’s what makes this supporters’ club so special. Hope everybody has had as good a week and you are enjoying the preparations for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
We will be back again with another update next week.
