Our roll call of players from the FA Women’s Super League who are set to feature at this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019 continues with Liverpool.
The Reds have enjoyed a comfortable season in the English top flight and one player is ready to take her personal form to the next level in France.
Scotland international Christie Murray is the only Liverpool player to be called up to represent
her national team at the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019 this summer. The creative midfielder, who is
also at home playing as a forward, most recently featured as a substitute for Scotland in their thrilling 3-2 win over Jamaica in front of an impressive home crowd of over 18,000 at Hampden Park.
She has previously captained her side at Under-19 level and she quickly went on to make her senior
debut for her country during a Cyprus Cup match against New Zealand in 2010. Murray has since made 61
senior appearances for her national side and she will be hoping that manager Shelley Kerr will select her to
feature at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France this summer.
Scotland start the tournament with the ultimate test, a match against rivals England in Nice on Sunday evening.
