WEEKLY UPDATE: Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club #15

Welcome to this week’s Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club update.

Last week saw our annual AGM meeting, which the club kindly allow us to hold in the CFA media centre, which is the same room where you will see Pep Guardiola doing his pre-match press conferences every week. As you can imagine, we are very lucky to be able to use it.

The AGM reviews the previous year’s events for our OSC. We go through our accounts with our members and we have a social review of our events away from the football such as our meetings, guests, curry nights and other events. We also use the meeting to set out our initial travel plans for away games and partnerships for the coming season. More of which will be in next week’s column.

One event which we are extremely proud to represent the group at each year is the Manchester Pride Parade. We join up with other City OSC branches and walk through the city centre. It’s a fun family day out for all. This week we unveiled the new Rainbow flag which we have had made especially to debut at the event. We think it looks fantastic and we hope that you do too. Keep your eyes open for it up and down the country.

The first team have jetted out to the United States this week to take part in the 2019 Women’s International Champions Cup tournament. It’s a little later than some years in order to give players a break after the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019. With the trip clashing with the start of the men’s team’s season, it means not as many of our supporters have headed out to America but together with lots of stateside Blues, the team will be roared on as usual.

We have continued to finalise our yearbook this week and as the signing of Tyler Toland last week proved, leaving the book to a later publishing date has been a wise move . We revealed our stunning new cover by renowned City artist Lesley Ross last week so check out our social media channels to see it or see our article in the forthcoming issue of FAWSL Full Time magazine. If you want to claim a free postcard of an alternative cover, simply follow our author @Bluecfa1962 on Twitter and tweet him with #postcard and he will send one to you .

That’s all for this week. We look forward to our friendlies in the United States and just like many of you, I’m counting down the days until the big FA Women’s Super League kick off.
