Arsenal manager Joe Montemurro is not willing to rush fit again trio Jen Beattie, Katrine Veje and Beth Mead back into action according to reports on The Gunners’ official website.
Beattie and Veje are nearing fitness but were not risked against Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend while forward Mead was given a 24-minute run out at The People’s Pension Stadium in Crawley.
The Gunners boss Montemurro has provided an update on the injury situation at Meadow Park and it is understood that the club will take a cautious approach to the trio’s first team involvement in the coming weeks.
Arsenal currently lead the FA Women’s Super League table and are on course to retain their title while they have a two-legged quarter-final tie with French club Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Women’s Champions League to look forward to at the end of March. Add their involvement in both the FA Women’s Continental League Cup and Women’s FA Cup into the mix and it looks to be a hectic second half of the campaign for the North Londoners.
Squad rotation will need to be used if Arsenal are to remain in all four competitions until the very end and with Beattie, Veje and Mead required to play their part’s, manager Montemurro is ready to limit their services in the short term for the long term gain of full fitness later in the season.
