Manchester United defender Millie Turner will miss this evening’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup tie against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Leigh Sports Village through injury.
The 23-year-old Wilmslow-born centre-back has been a rock at the heart of the United defence this season but she is not a member of the side which are aiming to reach the semi-finals of the FA Women’s Continental League Cup this evening.
Manchester United have announced that Turner has picked up a knock, ruling her out of tonight’s fixture against struggling Albion.

It is unknown how Turner sustained the injury with Manchester United having not played at the weekend following the postponement of their fixture against Liverpool at Prenton Park due to a waterlogged pitch. It may be a case that the defender has picked up the knock in training and will simply not be risked with an important home fixture against Tottenham Hotspur coming up in the FA Women’s Super League at the weekend.
Despite playing at a higher level this season, Turner has taken little time to transition into a more competitive division. She has been a key member of Casey Stoney’s defence, helping United record five consecutive clean sheets in all competitions earlier in the season.
The player will be sorely missed this evening with her club looking to return to winning ways on home soil.
