Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Lewes striker Amy Taylor on a deal until the end of the season according to the club’s official website.
Taylor arrives at Hayes Lane after spending more than two years with former club Lewes and will bring some much-welcomed versatility to the Palace squad.
The player has been operating primarily as a centre-forward for The Rookettes, however, she was initially a defender when she moved to the Sussex club from neighbours Brighton & Hove Albion in 2017. Taylor now favours her position in the attacking third of the pitch but she is more than capable of doing a job at the back if called upon by new boss Dean Davenport.
Taylor joins a Crystal Palace side who are two places below her former club in the FA Women’s Championship table. The Eagles have a goal difference which is 11 worse than Lewes while they could drop into the relegation zone should the division’s bottom club Charlton Athletic win one of their three games in hand.
Crystal Palace have confirmed that Taylor is eligible to make her debut for the club when they travel to Southampton FC in the Women’s FA Cup fourth round on Sunday afternoon.
