Charlton Athletic midfielder Hannah Churchill has left The Oakwood after almost three years with the South East Londoners.
The 26-year-old joined The Addicks in 2017 and starred for the club as they successfully claimed their place in the FA Women’s Championship before suffering a long term injury.
Official Charlton Athletic club media sources announced earlier today that the player has departed and she will now look to continue her rehabilitation ahead of a potential return to the football pitch next season.
With Charlton Athletic having struggled in the second tier so far this season, midfielder Churchill would have undoubtedly played a part for manager Riteesh Mishra had she been fit. The player has instead been left a frustrated figure on the sidelines as she has continued to recover from the injury blow which she sustained last season.
Churchill was named the Charlton Athletic Manager’s Player of the Year for her performances during the 2017/2018 campaign, her first with the club. The central midfielder signed a new deal with The Addicks that summer but has endured a tough time during the 18 months which have followed.
The player leaves a Charlton Athletic side who are currently rock bottom of the FA Women’s Championship table and winless in the league this season.
