Arsenal’s midfield duo Kim Little and Lia Walti are expected to be fit to face The Gunners’ North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in their FA Women’s Super League fixture at Meadow Park on Sunday according to official club media reports.
The pair were notable absentees from the Arsenal squad as the FA Women’s Super League champions lost 2-1 at Manchester City on Sunday.
Arsenal must now look to return to winning ways in the North London derby this weekend and it has been reported that both Little and Walti are expected to be fit for the Meadow Park clash. The midfield duo are believed to have been rested as a precaution for Sunday’s trip to the North West with both players having had their share of injury problems this season.
The defeat at The Academy Stadium left Arsenal three points adrift of top spot while they could fall five points behind should second-placed Chelsea win their game in hand. The Gunners also have the worst goal difference of those sides currently occupying the top three positions in the FA Women’s Super League table.
Arsenal defeated upcoming opponents Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the reverse fixture at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in November. The match was played in-front of a record crowd of 38,262.
