Former Bristol City defender Julie Biesmans has extended her contract with Dutch club PSV for a further year according to official media sources for the Eredivisie Vrouwen outfit.
The 25-year-old Belgian international joined PSV last summer as a free agent and the player has gone on to establish herself at the Jan Louwers Stadium.
It has now been announced that Biesmans has agreed to extend her stay with PSV for a further season. It is believed that the centre-back was initially contracted to the Dutch club until the end of the season but is now thought to have signed on until summer 2021.
Biesmans joined PSV after opting to leave former club Bristol City last summer. The player spent two seasons at the Stoke Gifford Stadium and was an ever-present for The Robins in the FA Women’s Super League last term.
The defender joined Bristol City from Belgian side Standard Liege where she started her senior career. Biesmans won back-to-back Super League Vrouwenvoetbal titles while saw enjoyed her first taste of UEFA Women’s Champions League football while at the Stade Standard de Liege.
Since joining current club PSV, Biesmans has developed a strong partnership with Dutch youth international defender Aniek Nouwen at the heart of the club’s defence and the player’s new contract will allow that relationship to blossom further.
