Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Renee Hector has rejoined FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division club Watford according to official media reports from The Golden Girls.
The 24-year-old joins Watford as a free agent after recently leaving FA Women’s Championship club Charlton Athletic following a short spell at The Oakwood.
Hector spent the three years prior to her time with The Addicks with Tottenham Hotspur. The tough-tacking centre-back guided Spurs to the FA Women’s Premier League title and FA Women’s Premier League Championship Play-Off glory while she was a member of Karen Hills and Juan Amoros’ side which won promotion to the top flight after finishing as FA Women’s Championship runners-up behind champions Manchester United last season.
The defender is no stranger to the black and gold shirts of Watford. Hector represented the club earlier in her career and was on the books as their FA Women’s Super League 2 licence application was approved in 2014. The Golden Girls find themselves chasing a return to that level of football with the club currently occupying second place in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division table. Watford are six points adrift of league leaders Crawley Wasps but they do have two games in hand.
Hector could make her Watford debut against Queens Park Rangers in a London derby on Wednesday 19 February.
