Manchester United’s postponed FA Women’s Super League fixture against Chelsea has been rearranged for Tuesday 12 May.
The original fixture was scheduled to take place at the Leigh Sports Village on Sunday 9 February but was postponed on safety grounds as Storm Ciara destroyed the weekend’s fixture card in the FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s Championship with high winds and torrential downpours.
It has now been revealed that the match has been rescheduled for Tuesday 12 May and will kick-off at 7.30pm.

The fixture will see Manchester United take on The Blues for the second time at the Leigh Sports Village this season. The pair previously met in their FA Women’s Continental League Cup semi-final tie last month with Chelsea coming out on top as 1-0 winners, qualifying for their first-ever final. Emma Hayes’ side also won the reverse fixture in the FA Women’s Super League 1-0 at Kingsmeadow in November. Norwegian defender Maren Mjelde has netted both of Chelsea’s goals against United this season.
The match could be both Manchester United and Chelsea’s final FA Women’s Super League fixture of the season and there is a chance that the prospect of lifting the league title could be on the line for the visitors.
