Manchester City goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck has been declared fit to feature for Phil Neville’s Lionesses at this year’s SheBelieves Cup in the United States.
The 20-year-old Sheffield-born stopper suffered an injury scare when she was stretchered off late on in Manchester City’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Chelsea at The Academy Stadium last weekend.
The player has now been assessed by the Manchester City medical team and it has been confirmed on the club’s official social media channels that Roebuck only sustained a minor foot injury which will not end her dreams of travelling to next month’s SheBelieves Cup in the United States with England.

Roebuck was called up into the England senior squad for the first time in October 2018 and she made her full international debut one month later, coming off the bench late in the match against Austria. The youngster has since added two more caps to her tally and many fans and pundits believe that Roebuck could be England’s long term number one, particularly after an impressive campaign so far in the FA Women’s Super League for her club.
England begin their defence of the SheBelieves Cup against the United States on 6 March before facing Japan on 8 March and Spain three days later.
